I booked another appointment to keep up the momentum and again feels great.. Thanks Dee I will be back…

Healing hands

Evidence is showing that the more massage you can allow yourself, the better you’ll feel. Here’s why Massage as a healing tool has been around for thousands of years in many cultures. Touching is a natural human reaction to pain and stress and for conveying compassion and support. Think of the last time you bumped your head or had a sore calf. What did you do? Rubbed it, right? The same was true of our earliest ancestors. Healers throughout time and throughout the world have instinctually and independently developed a wide range of therapeutic techniques using touch. Many are still in use today, and with good reason. We now have scientific proof of the benefits of massage – benefits ranging from treating chronic diseases and injuries to alleviating the growing tensions of our modern lifestyles. Having a massage does more than just relax your body and mind – there are specific physiological and psychological changes which occur, even more so when massage is utilized as a preventative, frequent therapy and not simply mere luxury. Massage not only feels good, but it can cure what ails you. ♥

The Benefits of a Therapeutic Massage♥ ♥ ♥
In today’s world, we can’t help it, we will experience sudden or sustained stress in our daily lives. The brain responds to stress in an age old manner, known as “fight or flight”.
This signals our sympathetic nervous system to respond with some serious body re-action, such as:
Muscles tighten in our neck, shoulders and back, blood vessels constrict, our eyes dilate, large amounts of energy are expended as the adrenal glands excrete hormones, circulation is re-routed away from the digestive track to your muscles.

When this process continues for a long time, you feel “stressed out”!
Massage breaks this tension by triggering the parasympathetic nervous system (the body’s way of conserving and restoring energy). Touch helps our body and mind to refocus and relax.♥

Massage is a form of healing in that it enables the body to help itself and the benefits are many. It improves the circulation. The heart pumps the blood through the body but the further the blood gets from the heart, the less pressure there is

to keep it moving and so it needs the compressing action of working muscles to speed the blood along to the extremities. Those with poor circulation can benefit greatly from massage because it helps the blood move through the congested areas.♥

Touch helps our body and mind to refoces and relax.Squeezing, stretching and kneading releases tight muscles and natural endorphin`s.This results in decreased pain, decreased heart rate and sense of calm.♥ ♥ ♥

Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress.

Laughter can be a powerful anti-aging weapon. And the most wonderful thing about it, is that it it’s free and available to everyone. “You don’t stop laughing because you’re old. You grow old because you stop laughing”♥ ♥ ♥

Depression and Massage

Massage therapy is one of the oldest treatments in the book when it comes to treating depression.

Touch helps our body and mind to refocus and relax. Squeezing, stretching and kneading releases tight muscles and natural endorphin’s. This results in decreased pain, decreased heart rate and a sense of calm.♥

Massage therapy is a beneficial treatment for maintaining and improving flexibility and motion. By working on muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and joints, regular massage can improve your flexibility and range of motion, keeping your joints more fluid and making them less injury prone.
As you can see, massage is a great way to relax stressed muscles, stimulate blood flow and improve flexibility. So is daily stretching.

Relaxation Massage

A Relaxation Massage is complete body massage, using smooth, gliding strokes and classic Swedish Massage techniques. I will use light to medium pressure, depending on the client’s preference, and the intent of the session is to help the client relax.Use of long, smooth strokes, kneading and other movements focused on superficial layers of muscle using massage oil.

During a relaxation massage there is less emphasis on working out serious adhesions or knots in the muscle tissue and the therapist won’t push your pain limits in order to get the muscle to release. Sometimes people even fall asleep during a relaxation massage.Relaxation massage improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues. It relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints.

There are still substantial health benefits to a relaxation massage, including calming the nervous system, promoting a sense of well-being, improving blood circulation and stimulating the body’s lymphatic system, which carries away waste products. If stress, anxiety and tension are causing problems a soothing relaxation massage is the key to reducing symptoms.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a type of Massage Therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as Relaxation Massage Therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation.

Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles.
